PikaShow Troubleshooting & Error Resolution Desk
Encountering an issue while installing or streaming on PikaShow? Follow these proven step-by-step diagnostic checklists to resolve Android runtime exceptions, signature conflicts, and ISP stream buffering stalls.
1. Fixing "Problem Parsing the Package" (Android Parse Error)
Underlying Cause: The APK file download was cut short by mobile cellular data drops, or your handset runs an unsupported operating system below Android 5.0 (Lollipop).
- Verify your device is running Android 5.0 or newer in Settings > About Phone.
- Delete all incomplete or duplicate APK files from your device's
Downloadsdirectory. - Clear your mobile browser's cache in Settings > Apps > Chrome > Storage > Clear Cache and re-download a fresh v94 package.
2. Fixing "App Not Installed" (Signature Certificate Conflict)
Underlying Cause: Android prevents updates if an older build signed with a different cryptographic key is already on your handset, or if flash storage is full during DEX compilation.
- Completely uninstall any existing PikaShow build currently on your device.
- Restart your device to purge temporary Dalvik and ART runtime cache allocations.
- Ensure at least 200 MB of internal storage is free, then run the clean v94 installer.
3. Fixing "Source Down" & Stream Buffering (ISP DNS Filtering)
Underlying Cause: Domestic broadband and cellular carriers (JioFiber, Airtel Xstream, Vi) often block unencrypted media streaming queries on known edge endpoints.
- Navigate to Settings > Network & Internet > Private DNS on your device.
-
Select Private DNS provider hostname and enter:
- Clear application cache in Settings > Apps > PikaShow > Storage > Clear Cache and relaunch the stream.
4. Fixing App Force-Close or Immediate Crashes
Underlying Cause: Outdated system rendering components or aggressive vendor battery managers (Xiaomi HyperOS/MIUI, Oppo ColorOS, Vivo Funtouch).
- Update Android System WebView and Google Play Services via the Google Play Store.
- Go to Settings > Battery > Battery Optimization, find PikaShow, and set it to Don't Optimize (or No Restrictions).
- Restart your phone to re-initialize the native ExoPlayer decoding pipeline.
